Tim Kahtava

Director/ Counsellor

Tim is the director of Northshore Family Centre. He has been a counsellor for over 20 years, working in private practice, not-for -profit organizations doing individual, couple and family therapy in the US, southern Ontario and currently here in Saul Ste. Marie. Tim has extensive experience in helping people through addictions, anxiety issues, stress, depression and relationship struggles. He is a registered Psychotherapist in Ontario. Tim work with EAP's (Employee Agency Programs), private insurance and fee for service basis. Given our Centre is partially subsidized our fees are lowered and Tim's fees are based on a sliding scale fee. Phone counselling is also available. The hope is to make it as easy as possible to access counselling should the need arise.

Katelyn Townsend

Life Coach

Katelyn’s goal is to help people through the growing practice of life coaching. This differs from counseling in that life coaching's focus is more on helping an individual discover and fulfill their niche, calling or dream in life. Katelyn is a certified life coach through the Certified Coaches Federation. Katelyn’s areas of specialization coaching include (but are not limited to), life purpose, women’s leadership, anxiety/depression management, spiritual development, education, self-discovery and general life coaching. Katelyn obtained her BA at Algoma University as a double major in psychology and sociology with honours. She is also currently attending Tyndale Seminary in order to obtain a Masters of Theological Studies. She aspires to help others successfully navigate the daily trials of life and grow closer to Christ.   Fees for services apply. To make appointments please email or call (705)206-6786.

Christina Williams

Counsellor

Christina is 

returning to Northshore in January 2020. 

Christina is a Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying) with a Masters of Science in Counselling Psychology degree, as well as a certificate in Christian studies from Tyndale University. 

Throughout her internships at Northshore , The Sault Area Hospital (psychology intern), and the Algoma District School board (counsellor),  Christina has therapeutic experience with depression, anxiety, trauma, pre-marriage counselling, marriage/couples counseling, development, psychotherapy, methods of biblical change, personality disorders, behavioural addictions, mental and mood disorders, and holistic counselling.
